This week in reading, we read a story called, “Skip To My Lou.” We are almost done reviewing all the consonants and sight words from kindergarten.
In math, we have been busy creating addition sentences. We modeled addition problems with partners and cubes. We learned that the numbers being added are called the addends, and the answer to an addition problem is called the sum.
In social studies, we began a unit about families. We talked about how are families are the same and different and all the things we learn from our families.
In science, we are learning about trees. We read a story about the life cycle of a tree and completed a chart showing the steps from seed to tree.
We also started working with chromebooks this week. We practiced logging in and out of the computer. Next week, we will create a google doc in our drive!
Don’t forget next Thursday night is Open House! See you then! Mrs. Wolff 🙂
