Click here to see our production of “How The Grinch Stole Christmas” by Dr. Seuss!

A HUGE Thank you to Mr. O’Farrell who filmed our play. The children worked so hard and did a fantastic job.

Thank you to all the parents, friends and relatives who were able to come. You can see some great pictures of all the Who’s by logging into Shutterfly. Feel free to leave a comment on our blog! Happy Holidays!

This week in reading, we read a story called, “The Farmer in the Hat.” It was about a class putting on a play. (Just like us!) We read words with the long “a” sound like “lake” and “cake” and and learned about proper nouns, like “Boyden School.”

In math we have been practicing different strategies for adding. We talked about “making 10” when adding 9. For example, if the addition problem is 6+9=?, if you know that 6+10=16, then 6+9=15, one less. We reviewed adding with doubles (adding the same number) and adding doubles plus 1 and doubles plus 2. Knowing all our doubles facts helps us add much faster.

In social studies this week talked about natural resources. We know that water, trees and oil are all very important natural resources. In science we continued working in our water journal. We discussed the differences between hot and cold.

We have been very busy practicing for “The Grinch That Stole Christmas” by Dr. Seuss.  We hope to see everyone on Thursday December 18th at 9:00 in the cafeteria!
