This week in reading, we read a story called “Mole and Baby Bird.” We have been reading and making words with the “ow” and “ou”. We have also been reviewing long vowel sounds and writing sentences with exclamation marks.
In Math we have been learning about shapes and solids. We sorted plane shapes by the number of corners and sides and solids by the number of flat surfaces and vertices. We have also started to talk about geometry. We can recognize equal parts of a shape.
In science, we have started working in our weather journal. We talked about weather words and illustrated them.
Congratulations to all the first graders for performing a spectacular concert last night!
